What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file that a website stores on your device so it can remember something between one page and the next: that you are signed in, or which language you chose, or what you answered to a question it asked you earlier.
What this site stores: nothing that identifies you
Browsing malagasightseeing.com does not place a single cookie of ours on your device. We count visits with a statistics tool that uses no cookies (explained below), and there is no banner asking you for permission because there is nothing to ask permission for.
WordPress, the system this website runs on, writes one technical flag in your browser's session storage to check whether your device can display emoji. It identifies nobody, it is not sent anywhere and it disappears when you close the tab.
The only other exception is signing in to manage the website, which is something only we do. That does set the cookies the system needs in order to keep the session open, and it does not apply to visitors.
The booking calendar
On a day trip page, the calendar where you choose your date and pay is loaded from Turitop, the booking platform used by the company that operates the trip. It is a third party, it works inside its own window, and it sets its own cookies there: a session identifier, to carry your selection from one step to the next, and those of the analytics and marketing tools the operator uses in it (Google Analytics and Google Ads, Meta, Hotjar and Clientify). We do not control them and we cannot read them.
It loads only on day trip pages, never on the rest of the site, and it loads without asking because it is the very thing you came for: without it there is no availability to see and no way to book. What you type into it goes to the operator, not to us, as explained in the privacy policy.
The reviews widget
The block showing reviews of these day trips is served by Trustindex, a European company. It loads a script from its servers in order to display public reviews. It does not identify you and it never receives what you send us through our forms.
The network in front of the site
This website is served through Cloudflare, which delivers the pages and filters attacks. Depending on how a request looks to its security systems, Cloudflare may set a technical cookie to tell a browser from a bot. It is strictly necessary for the site to stay available and it is not used to profile you.
We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to know how many people visit and which pages are useful. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, does not identify you and does not follow you to other websites: it only gives us totals, such as visits per page, country, browser and the website you came from.
What this site does not do
On our own pages: no cookie-based analytics, no advertising cookies, no profiling, no tracking pixels from social networks, and nothing that follows you to other websites. We do not build a profile of you and we have nothing about your browsing to sell, share or lose.
If that ever changes, because one day we may want to know which pages are useful, this page will say so before it happens and you will be asked first.
Managing cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you see, block or delete the cookies a site has stored: in Chrome, under Settings and then Privacy and security; in Firefox, under Settings and then Privacy and Security; in Safari, under Settings and then Privacy; in Edge, under Settings and then Cookies and site permissions. Blocking them for the booking platform will stop the calendar working.
Changes to this policy
If we add anything that stores information on your device, this page changes with it, and the version in force is always the one published here. For everything else about your personal data, see the privacy policy.
