The Andalusian capital in a day, your way
Seville is about 210 kilometres from Málaga, a long way to organise on your own for a single day. This day trip takes you there and back, and lets you choose how to spend the day: on your own in the old town, inside the Cathedral and up the Giralda, or in the palace of the Real Alcázar.
From the coast to Seville
After pickup, the coach heads west with a short stop of approximately 20 minutes for breakfast and toilets. Coming into Seville you see from the coach the Paseo de Colón and the Guadalquivir, the Avenida de la Palmera and María Luisa Park, before the coach stops at the Puerta de Jerez, next to the Torre del Oro and a few minutes from the Cathedral. There the group splits by option.
Seville on your own
Approximately five hours for yourself. A good route starts in the Plaza del Triunfo, with the Cathedral and the Giralda in front of you, goes into the Santa Cruz quarter — the Plaza de Doña Elvira, the Plaza de Santa Cruz — and out through the Murillo Gardens to María Luisa Park and the Plaza de España, with its canal and its tiled benches for each province of Spain. From there you can cross to Triana by the San Telmo bridge, walk along Calle Betis by the river and come back over the Triana bridge towards the Setas in the Plaza de la Encarnación, with tapas around the Plaza del Salvador.
With the Cathedral and the Giralda
First some free time in the Santa Cruz quarter, then the group meets the guide for approximately an hour in the Cathedral: one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world and a World Heritage Site. Inside you see the great high altarpiece, the tomb of Christopher Columbus, the stained glass, the carved choir, the treasury and the main sacristy, with works by Murillo and Goya. Then you climb the Giralda on your own for the view over the city. Afterwards you have the rest of the free time, approximately four hours in all, depending on the entry time.
With the Real Alcázar
Free time first in the Santa Cruz quarter, with a chance for a quick bite before meeting the group. The visit takes approximately an hour and a half, including approximately an hour with the guide inside the Real Alcázar: a royal palace still in use, a World Heritage Site, and one of the locations of the series Game of Thrones. The Courtyard of the Maidens, the Hall of the Ambassadors with its dome and tiles, and the gardens with their fountains. In all you have approximately three and a half hours of free time, most of it before the visit; the exact split depends on your entry time.
Back to the coast
In the afternoon the whole group meets again at the Puerta de Jerez and the coach takes you back, with a short toilet stop, to the same stop where you were picked up.
Frequently asked questions
Cathedral, Alcázar or free time?
The Cathedral option gets you inside the largest monument in the city and up the Giralda for the view. The Alcázar is a palace of courtyards, tiles and gardens, the favourite of many visitors. Free time suits you if you prefer to walk the old town, Triana and the Plaza de España at your own pace, or if you have already seen the monuments.

With the Cathedral or the Alcázar, the original identity card or passport you used to book: the tickets are issued in each visitor's name and copies are not accepted. With free time only, no ID is needed to book.
Why is there a cancellation fee?
Because the monument tickets are issued in the visitor's name. If you cancel at least 24 hours before departure, €20 per person is kept and the rest is refunded. It applies to every option. Later than that, or if you don't show up, there is no refund.

More questions about Seville
How far is Seville from Málaga?
About 210 kilometres. That is why this is a long day, and why it is worth choosing it for a day when you are not travelling the next morning.
Can I climb the Giralda?
Yes, with the Cathedral option. The Giralda, the bell tower of the Cathedral, is climbed by ramps rather than stairs, and from the top you see the whole of the old town.
Was Game of Thrones filmed in the Real Alcázar?
Yes, the Alcázar was one of the series' locations. It is a palace still used by the royal family, with rooms in several styles, from Islamic art to the Renaissance.
What is the Plaza de España?
A huge semicircular square in María Luisa Park, with a canal crossed by tiled bridges and a bench for each province of Spain, each decorated with its own tiles. It is free to visit and you can reach it during your free time.
