Embark on an exciting Caminito del Rey tour from Fuengirola, a journey that combines natural beauty, thrilling heights, and historical intrigue. Our comfortable bus will pick you up at the agreed time and location, setting off on a scenic drive through the captivating landscapes of the Costa del Sol.
The Caminito del Rey, once known as the world’s most dangerous walkway, has been beautifully restored and is now a safe yet thrilling path that clings to the steep walls of a narrow gorge. This historic trail, originally built for hydroelectric workers in the early 20th century, offers breathtaking views and an unparalleled hiking experience.
Our guided tour begins at the northern entrance, where you’ll receive safety instructions and a helmet. As we start our hike, our knowledgeable guide will share fascinating tales of the Caminito’s construction and its significance in the region’s industrial past. You’ll learn about the daring workers who built the path and the historical events that have shaped this iconic route.
The trail stretches for nearly 8 kilometers, taking us through dramatic landscapes and offering panoramic views of the Guadalhorce River below. Along the way, you’ll see unique rock formations, lush vegetation, and the impressive canyon carved by the river over millennia. The highlight of the walk is crossing the spectacular hanging bridge, suspended high above the gorge, where the views are simply awe-inspiring.
Other noteworthy sections include the “Desfiladero de los Gaitanes,” a narrow canyon with sheer limestone walls, and the serene El Chorro reservoir at the southern end of the path. As we walk, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to capture stunning photos and soak in the natural beauty of the area.
After completing the trail, we’ll have time to relax and enjoy the picturesque surroundings before boarding the bus for our return trip to Fuengirola. This is your chance to reflect on the day’s adventure and the incredible sights you’ve witnessed.
